1. Why make a reservation with Apartmentsi.com?
We offer you apartment for the nights that you want in centrally located, clean places, many of which do not have their own website or are not listed in guidebooks. Of all the budget apartment options available in Barcelona, only about 25% of these places are available for online booking. We work with the best of these apartments and offer safe, basic, decent rooms for the dates you want. Furthermore, they are situated in the city centre, within easy walking distance of the places of interest. We try to show you always offers for 30€ per person, per night under normal circumstances. During peak demand times the price may be higher. The price per night, total amount and prepaid amount are clearly stated, and of course, you are under no obligation to accept this offer. We also show more expensive offers.

2. Could I get a better price if I just contacted the apartment directly?
The rates provided are the same ones that they use for direct clients. We negotiate last minute deals with the hotels and hostels to sell their excess capacity or non-booked rooms at rates significantly lower than the normal price. In most cases it could turn out more expensive to reserve directly with the establishment. In most cases the price varies between 20-40€ per person, per night.
Their pricing depends on their current occupancy, the season, and their expected demand. It changes frequently.
We work with the establishments by phone and in person. We work with the establishments by phone and in person. Contacting them directly would cost you time and money: time calling round and checking out the various places and prices, and money on telephone calls or faxes. We do have a booking fee of 5€ plus VAT apart of the accommodation rate which is properly announced in the final amount.

3. What are the apartments like? How do I know I will like my apartment?
We have visited all the apartments we work with to assure they are well-run, clean, safe, centrally located or close to places of special interest. We only work with apartments that appear on this map, and we show up to 9 photographs of every place. We do our absolute best to accurately represent, through photos and detailed descriptions, the reality of every apartment option we offer. We guarantee that all rooms are private, and not shared with other guests.
You can also check other guests’ comments at the bottom of every offer. This should give you an overall idea about the accommodation quality / experience.

4. How do I get to Barcelona city centre from Barcelona´s main "El Prat" airport?
There are 3 options by public transport: train, bus or taxi.
(i) The RENFE regional train service runs approximately every 30 minutes, stopping at "Estació de Sans" rail station and "Plaza Catalunya" in the city centre. The journey from the airport by train takes around 20 minutes, and leaves you in the underground station with your entire luggage to cart up the stairs to street level, where you then need to make your way to your apartment. A one way ticket costs 2.40€. This is the cheapest method, but also the most hassle and time.
(ii) The Aerobús shuttle service connects Barcelona airport to the city centre. The bus runs every 15 minutes and stops at several locations in the centre of Barcelona, including "Plaza de España" and "Plaza Catalunya". A one way ticket costs 3.60€. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Look on the Aerobús official web page for further information. The Aerobús leaves from just in front of the airport, in the same area where all the Taxis are lined up to pick people up. Not a bad option, although you still need to get yourself and your luggage to your apartment from where the bus leaves you - at "Plaza de España" or "Plaza Catalunya"
(iii) A Taxi costs approximately 25€ (for up to 3 people) with a small additional charge per item of luggage. It takes 20-25 minutes to get to the city centre, depending on the state of the traffic. As this works out to approx 9€ per person if you are at least 3 people, and it takes you directly to the door of your apartment, it is by far the fastest and most hassle-free option.

The journey from Girona takes around 1 hour 15 minutes, and a return ticket costs 19€. All bus departures are timed throughout the day to leave just after your flight arrives. 7. What happens if I decide to stay for fewer nights than I reserved?
(i) You must notify the apartment IMMEDIATELY that you plan to stay fewer nights than you originally reserved. You will find the contact details in the e-mail sent to you when you initially made the reservation.

8. Does the amount I have already paid online correspond to the first night of my stay?
The amount already paid IS NOT THE FIRST NIGHT OF YOUR STAY. This sum represents the commission of Apartmentsi, the 5€ booking fee, local taxes and agreements between the apartments and Apartmentsi.
This amount is calculated in relation to the original total number of nights you reserved. EnGrande blocks the calendar for the room or apartment reserved from the moment the reservation is made until the arrival date. If you make a late cancellation (either total or partial nights), or simply fail to show up, these room nights will go wasted, unsold. The room nights have been held for you, at your request. Now they will go unsold due to this no-show or late cancellation. The ¨amount already paid¨ (the amount pre-paid online) will not be refunded, and will be used to partially offset the loss incurred by EnGrande and the accommodation. See cancellation policy.

16. Is the neighbourhood safe?
Barcelona is one of the safest cities in Europe. However, as in all large cities, one must exercise certain caution, especially in the areas popular with tourists such as "Las Ramblas", the "Barrio Gótico" and the "Raval".
Most reported crimes in Barcelona relate to petty theft, pick-pocketing, and purse-snatching. You must take common-sense precautions in this regard. Do not carry your shiny, new camera dangling from your neck in plain view.
Be aware of your surroundings. Do not flaunt purses, cash, and jewellery. The best means of defence against such incidents is to take the necessary precautions and use one's common sense.
