Plaza España or Plaza de España (Plaça d’Espanya in Catalan) is located in the lively Barcelona neighbourhood called Sants - the biggest and oldest area of the Sants-Montjuic district.
Sants and Plaza España are major transit venues of Barcelona. The main train station of Barcelona for national and international routes is located in the area - Estación de Sants (Sants Station). The Venetian Towers are two beautiful buildings considered an iconic symbol of Plaza España. They are 47m high (154 ft.) and lead the way to the Museu National d'Art Catalunya (MNAC) through Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, an avenue commonly used to host trade fairs. Near Plaza España there is also located a famous bullring called Arenas de Barcelona. This magnificent construction was built in 1900 and nowadays is being converted into a shopping centre.
