You will see Paella on the menu in most restaurants in Barcelona, but how do you know where to get a good one? Although is the birthplace of the Paella, it is possible to find a decent example of this dish in the Catalan capital; you just have to be aware of a few things. Paella that is offered in touristy areas as part of a set menu is usually pre-cooked and will not have the same taste as a recently prepared one. A good Paella is not cheap and the best ones can be found in the port area in establishments which prepare the dish on site and sometimes even require prior reservation to allow time for preparation.
