  About the accommodation
The 75 m2 Girona Apartment is located in a Modernist building (Casa Francesc Cairo), which forms part of the area known as “El Quadrat d'Or”, at the centre of the city, built by the architect Domenec Boada in 1910 (one of Gaudi’s disciples), five minutes from Passeig de Gracia (La Pedrera and Casa Batllo) and ten minutes from the Sagrada familia. Very interesting entrance which contains the original ceramic foyer with leaded stained glass windows. The so-called Golden Square (Quadrat d’ Or) is bordered by Diagonal Avenue - the main artery of Barcelona, the beautiful Rondas, and Passeig de Sant Joan - another beautiful tree-lined boulevard, and Balmes Street. Thousands of tourist guides laud famous landmarks in this zone, such as Antoni Gaudí's La Casa Milà (known also by the name of La Pedrera) and La Casa Batlló. Visit them for yourself and decide whether they deserve such fame (we think they do). Both of these, by the way, can be found on Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona's equivalent of Milan's Via Montenapoleone - a chic place to spend time window shopping or enjoying a probably over-priced café con leche. The apartment is on the 4th floor (but 6 floors up from street-level; don't worry, there's a lift) and sleeps up to 5 persons by the way of 3 bedrooms: 1 large bedroom with a double bed and a balcony, another large room with two individual beds and a 3rd bedroom with bunk beds (sleep 2). There are two full bathrooms with whirpool showers. The living room's balcony overlooks the street; the kitchen holds a dining table, microwave, toaster, blender, and important for long stays: a clothes washing machine. For summer months, the AC comes in handy, or heat in the winter months in the 3 principal rooms. Just reformed, this apartment is full of new things in an old European city.

un tres joli appart, tres bon emplacement avec bouche mètro a proximitè et un acceuil tres chaleureux

The location was excellent. 2 mins walk to Diagonal or Verdaguer metro & 5 mins to Girona. Large covered market and supermarket 2 mins away. An easy 20 mins walk to Placa Catalunya. It is in the middle of noteworthy Modernista buildings. 10 mins max to Sagrada Familia. We were v. pleasantly suprised by the quality of our apartment & it was immaculate. Bedrooms were at the rear so v. quiet, 1 large double and 1 v. small but adequate twin and 1 tiny bunk room. 2 excellent bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. Lift worked well. 5 of us in it and we all loved it! The very nice woman who managed it, lived opposite and was very helpful with limited English.

l'appartamento è bello e ben posizionato. Unica pecca: le stanze da letto erano fredde e non siamo riusciti a scaldarle.
